Alex Kelly is an American singer/songwriter born in Queens New York. In 2007 Alex met Robby Takac (Goo Goo Dolls), who hand-picked her as the lead singer and co-writer for his electro-pop side band, Amungus. The band landed a prime spot at the Rockin at the Knox music series featuring The B52’s and Metric. After three years under the wing of Takac’s musical influence, Alex eagerly channeled her energies into her first solo project.

Spring of 2010 saw the release of Alex’s self-produced EP entitled Sticky Butterfly. Channel 7 WKBW, Carma Dee TV, Z100 New Radio and Afropunk.com featured the EP both online and on television. Later that year, Sony Creative Software (Acidplanet.com) launched a remix contest for the EP’s first single “Funky Hydrophonic”.  In addition, the New Music Seminar nominated Alex for the 2011 AOV list.

Orange Circle, a collaboration between Alex Kelly, Kelsey Warren (Pillow Theory), and Justin Rose (GCR Audio), debuted as Kelly’s first full length album in 2012.“Orange Circle is a truly sassy dance-rock album that set the standard that artists like Jessie J and Karmin continue to emulate.” –Examiner.com. In support of her album, Alex and her band embarked upon two North East tours, starting with an opening day performance at the 2012 CMJ Music Marathon. The success of Orange Circle earned performances at the Restoration Rocks Festival featuring Big Daddy Kane, Quest Love, and Chrisette Michele, the Northside Festival featuring Solange Knowles, and the 2013 CMJ Music Marathon. In the Summer of 2014 the music video for the single "Magnet" appeared in MTV.com's top videos list at # 35.

Known for her unconventional and sometimes unpredictable approach to creativity, for her next album, Alex will make a departure from the heavily electronic sound of her previous works. Her new album draws inspiration from her beginnings in soul, blues, and jazz. As a precursor to the album, Alex performed  at the 'BAM Cafe Live' series in March of 2015.
